Laura Jean Kahl, curator of the Three Rivers Film Festival’s competitive shorts program, will be speaking about how to apply to film festivals. Giving the perspective of a film festival director, Laura Jean will provide valuable information on what filmmakers should and should not do when applying to festivals.
 
This event is free and open to the public, though we do request that you RSVP so we know how many people to expect.

Laura Jean Kahl is the Exhibition Coordinator/Manager for Pittsburgh Filmmakers' three theaters. She earned her BFA from Carlow University with a concentration in photography. She has curated the competitive shorts program in the Three Rivers Film Festival for the past four years, and also curates the short films to screen before feature films during the festival. She also oversees the monthly Film Kitchen screenings, and curates short films for the Cultural Trust's downtown gallery crawls. Her personal work has shown locally and nationally.
